Richard L Campbell
I was introduced to the Clan Campbell Society at a games in New York in the
early 80’s. After moving to Florida in 1987, I met the then Florida State Commissioner,
Roland Campbell at the Southeast Florida Games. I asked if I could help, as he was
alone, and he showed me around and put me to work. I joined the Society in 1988, and
became a Life Member in 2021. I have served as Florida State Deputy at Large, State
Commissioner, and Region 12 Commissioner (current), and was named Trustee at the
AGM in 2024. I have set up tents and displays over the last 38 years, and was tutored
well by Roland and Scott Campbell. One of the highlights of my involvement was the
25th Anniversary AGM at Grandfather Mountain, where I met the Chief of Clan
Campbell, the Duke and the Dutchess of Argyle, and many Commissioners, deputies
and clansmen from all over the United States.
I have been blessed to be self employed in construction, which allowed me to
participate and represent the Society to the public, and will continue to serve the Society
and its members to the best of my ability. I was taught early on, that the most important
people in the Society are the members, and it’s the Commissioners that do the work.
Richard was the Commissioner of the Year recipient in 2024
