Loudoun Castle
(4th Earl of Loudoun)
Loudoun Castle in Ayrshire, southwest of Glasgow, is a magnificent, but unsafe ruin still in the hands of the family and not open to the public. The original keep or tower is encased in a later baronial palace. The castle was for centuries the seat of the Campbell Earls of Loudoun. Their descendants still own the land.
