I'm proudly descended from John (Scotland), James, Levy, Leon, Levi, Allie Sr., and then Allie Jr. Would love to hear from any distant (or not so distant cousins!). descendant of Abner Campbell who came to the US just after the revolution with his two brothers Frank and ?. Abner settled in Pennsylvania and had a son, George Washington Campbell, who married Sarah Ann Pyle in St. Clair Co., Illinois. They had several children, among whom was John Hampton Campbell, my great-grandfather. He married Adelia Honeywood Gill in Illinois. They eventually settled in Jasper Co., Missouri, where my grandfather, Gus Campbell was born. Gus married my grandmother, Grace Wampler Campbell. They had two children, Ben Campbell and Howard Daniel Campbell, my father. Would love to know who Abner was married to or anything about his brothers

My grandfather, Robert James Campbell, Jr., traced our line back to N. Ireland in the 1700's. I am the eighth generation in America, from John Campbell of N. Ireland who sailed to America and settled in Butler County, PA. My particular line migrated to N. Ireland from Argyle. I am trying to trace the line back to Argyle, Scotland.

I just ran across this site and decided to put a little query in to see if I could get some help. My maiden name is THOMASON. While in Scotland 10 years ago, I found that the family could have emigrated from Scotland as there is a clan of that name. From the things I am reading, it must be a part of the Campbell clan. Anyway, I am trying to ascertain whether the family truly came from Scotland, England, Wales or Ireland. The first trace I have of them is in SC in 1790. My ggggrandfather was a Methodist minister, and his son was a Methodist-Presbyterian minister. The given names in the family are: James, John, Wiley, George, and Victor. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My ancestors include an Elizabeth Campbell, daughter of Donald Campbell and granddaughter of another Donald Campbell, said to have been the last Abbott of Coupar Angus in Scotland, and descended from one of the Earls of Argyll. Elizabeth lived in the 17th century, was married to John McOmy (McOmy Mor) (family surname now known as McCombie) and lived in Glenisla, near Forfar, eastern Scotland. Any fellow descendants out there?
