Where are the Campbells of Cawdor out there? Scrolling through the guestbook, and we are poorly represented in this clan! My Dad was Donald P. Calder, born in Dornoch, Scotland in 1916. I'm just starting to research our history, and I can't believe the resources on the 'net! Thanks for yet another one. Maybe this hi-tech cyberspace we're all spinning through will actually bring us back to our roots and to our clans. Let's hope so. Any Calders out there, love to hear from you!

My family, farmers, came from Ulster in the 19th century and settled first in central Ontario (Grand Valley) and later in Saskatchewan (Saskatoon). My father (William Franklin Campbell) served in the Royal Canadian Navy. My mother (Freda Margret Campbell) is from the Leckie Clan - her family came from Scotland, also in the 19th century and settled first in Western Ontario (Sarnia) and then in Saskatchewan. I have spent 37 years in the Canadian Army (including service in Britain which allowed me to visit Scotland) and will retire this spring. Regards Ted Campbell

Though I am not a Campbell, my Grandfather was James Thomson from Dunfermline. I believe someone told me the Thomson's were a sept of the Clan Campbell, if this is in error, I apologize. I am pleased to find this site in an effort to learn more of my heritage.

For you NFL Redskins fans, I am Known as Grandpaw Hogette (yellow dress). People often ask me how I can put on a dress and wear a pig snout, to whivh I proudly reply, my ancesters wore kilts and the Campbell crest is a Boars Head. What could be more natural.
