Interesting reading on the history of the clans. Although I've always known I was adopted, I only recently found out that my real last name is Currie, and only more recently learned that that is a Scots name. In my searching around for a little history I came across your page, which I must add was EXTREMELY informative and interesting. Thank you.

I was told by my great great grandfather that our families had some type of unionship. If fact our Clan was associated with yours. I was wondering if you had any idea of this, or any information in which you could possibly share with me. Our Clan name was MacStandish, McStandish, Standish, Stanndish, & Stuarvante. These are all names of members of our Clan. Everything that I have found leads to your family Clan, we basically have the same Tartan with the exception of a small orange stripe in ours. Thank you for your time.

Greetings.
I am Campbell as well from a branch that has been long in the New World.
Apparently my direct ancestor made a drastic mistake and supported the Crown in
the American Revolution and as such lost their title to all of Kentucky. That is where
the branch I am direct Kin to mostly are, but as you can see we have spread out a bit
It is great to see a website dedicated to the Clan.

I am a 47 yr. old graphic designer, married with two children. I am originally from Long Island New York and moved to California in 1965 with my mother(Joan Mary Campbell), father(Alexander James Campbell Jr.) and two sisters. My great grandfathers name was Hugh Rose Campbell. He came to the states around the turn of the century and settled in Brooklyn NY. We don't know what happened to him and his wife but they apparently died young leaving two sons, the eldest Alexander James Campbell being my grandfather, he was 12 years old when they died. The two boys now were sent to an orphanage. They ran away soon after. Our branch of the family has been in and around New York since then. –I think it is important for me and my children to learn about, recognize and honor the contribution our Clan Campbell and the Highlands have made to western civilization as a whole. I’m proud to have come from such a distinguished clan and hope in some small way to carry on the best of our traditions and belief’s.

"Follow Me"
The soldiers would cry.
The clansmen would follow,
and many would die.
The clash of the spear
The hiss of an arrow
The flash of the sword
and smoke from the barrel.
Surrounded in clammer
Immersed in the battle.
Some fought from their knees.
Some died in the saddle.
The bag pipe would bellow
the drum steady beat.
The men they would follow
The foe to retreat.
For brothers long past
The splendour and sorrow.
"FOLLOW ME" Ye Campbells
And again on the morrow.

I came to the Campbell page looking for information which may help determine if Alexander surname belongs to the Campbell Clan. I know that my grandfather Clearance Alexander was Scottish
and my grandmother Hattie E. Alexander (Batson) was Irish. From what I have been able to learn I believe my Scotch-Irish Hertiage is very strong. On my mothers side my great-great grandfather
came to the US by way of Nova Scotia, he was a Merchant Marine. His name was Woodbury and he married a Johnson. As to all the particular details I am awaiting a research already started by my cousin.
But what I would really like to know in the meantime is it feasible that anyone
could possible tell me from what info I have provided if I do desend from the Campbell clan ????
