My Campbell roots go back to a Archibald Campbell of Argyle.
He had a brother, Dougald who married Katherine.Thats actually where we start is with Dougald and Katherine.
Could we be related some how? I am in my 30s and am just getting into my family history.
My Grandfather was Fred S. Campbell. He married Grace Thornicroft.
Thanks for your time

Hello! What a nice web site. We've just established campbells.net for our family's web page, and I'll add a link to this one. My grandfather (Elam Arden Campbell) moved to Southeast Texas from Woodbury, Tennessee, and we've managed to trace our lineage back to a Campbell who was in (I believe) South Carolina around 1760.

Is there a schedule of events for July and the rest of the year. I am planning on attending the Grandfather Mountain Games July. I am hoping to gain some help with geneology research. I can't find my great grandfather Frank Campbell's fathers name as of yet and obtaining the death certificate of my grandfather George Campbell is proving difficult. If there are any suggestions or maybe contacts please send the information my way.

Have just discovered your page. I am married to a David W. Campbell, we are looking for information on his father who died in 1974. He never spoke of his family. What birth info we have is that he was born in Valentine, MS in 1910, his death certificate says his fathers name was Joseph H Campbell and mother was Mary Wort. We found a burial record for Joseph H Cambpell, died December 14, 1943. We don't know if he had brothers and sisters. Would appreciate any help we could get. I enjoyed reading comments and information and will visit again soon.

My Scottish roots are in the MacDonald Clan. I understand
from my Grandfater, Martin MacDonald , that there was a
time in the history of the Campbell's and MacDonald's that
something happened in which a MacDonald member was
murdered by a Campbell. Do you have any information about this event? I have a newpaper clipping of the event but it is still to be located since we moved here to Oregon from Vermont, and not all things have come to the surface!
Would appreciated your help in halping me trace my family back thru a small bit of factual history. Diana (MacDonald

I have dear friends who are Thompsons and are members. They have helped to educate me about CCSNA and I have enjoyed the festival and games in Texas for 2 years now. I am not a Campbell by blood(that I know of) but by marriage of a great, great aunt,
but I feel very connected to the clan. I look forward to future events and will check in with this page from time to time to keep up.

I am looking for information on my G.G.Grandmother's family. Her name was Sarah V. Campbell who married James Haynes in Franklin Co. VA. Sarah is the daughter of Thomas and Anny (Lavender) Campbell who were married in Aug. of 1814. So far that is all I have been able to find. Any help in this research would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
