It's nice to visit. Lucy Jane Campbell Fortson, of Madison County, Georgia, was my great-great-grandmother. She is said to have ridden a mule from Danielsville, Georgia, to Richmond, Va., after the Civil War to bring her husband, Earl Fortson, back home. The couple had fourteen children. I have learned from books and research that one side of my lineage was related to the Cochrans and Cambells. Iva Dell Cochran of Fort Worth Texas supplied much of the info for a lineage book wri8tten called Forgotten Acres.
In this book it stated that the Cochrans joined the Cambell clan. My son is doing a lineage research paper and I am trying to help him in his search to get background information on the Cochrans and the Cambells.
Kate M. Cochran was my great grandmothers name. My grandfathers name was Ralph King- his son (my biological father) is Curtis King.
