After looking at the comments provided by the rest of the Clan, I guess I should, in all fairness, add mine. I was stationed in the Air Force, at RAF Station Lakenheath, Suffolk, England, 1966-1970. As far as I can ascertain, I'm the first of the Thomasons to return to the homeland since about 1735 when the first 2 came to Virginia as exiled convicts. While stationed in England, I "became" British quite easily---must be those old genes were working! One of my many accomplishments that I did when stationed there, that I did not give much thought to at the time, was the escorting and entertaining of a very cute little girl at the time (this was in l969) one afternoon by taking her to the Base Snack Bar and giving her her first American style Cheeseburger, Fries and Coke. You can imagine my shock some 12 years later when I saw her "Papa", a very good friend of mine, escorting her down the aisle at Westminster Abbey to marry the Prince of Wales! When she and the Prince began having their marital difficulties I wrote to her--she remembered that afternoon, writing back. We stayed in close touch after that, until her death last year. She was much more than a simple Princess to me..she was the daughter of a close friend, and I miss her deeply.

I am from La., however my father is from Maine. I have an extensive video that was put together by a family member that discusses each family member as far back as my great grand- father. All my grandfather's brothers and sisters and all of their children up to present were presented. Some pictures were not available, but most of the family presented pictures. Thank you, Lisa

Trying to research my family but cannot get any info anywhere. My grandfather was Daniel James Burns origially from Baltimore Maryland. He died in 1917 in Philadelphia Pa and is burried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon Pa. He was married to Caroline Schneider(or Snieder). They had three chidren: Abagail Burns Kemp, Daniel Burns and my Father Joseph John Burns, all deseased. They lived on Calohill St. in Philadelphia and before that on Sears St. My Grandfathers family is not clear. He may have had two brothers, William and J.J. and a sister Mary. His Fathers name may have been Daniel also. There's no one left to ask and its very frustrating. When my Father was alive, he never talked about his family as his Father died when he was was only 5 years old. If anyone has any information, please contact me. Thanks!

My grandmother was Robina Campbell, daughter of Andrew Campbell and Mary Gimmel (?), who immigrated to the US in 1870 or 1871. I am just now starting the research of that branch of my family, and a "Clan Campbell" search on the internet seemed a good place to start. 53,000 documents is a bit daunting though.

An excellent and informative site for newcomers to clan history. One suggestion: it would be helpful if perhaps you could display the Campbell tartans so as to indicate what is and what is not authorized by MacCalein Mor.

Hugh P. Moore first introduced me to the Clan Campbell in the early 1970's. He was a friend of my father's. My father supported the castle at Argyle at that time. It is wonderful to see how this has blossomed into a beautifully designed website for the Campbells. My celebration of my 50th year of life and 45th year of golf started with a whimsical internet search for the Campbells in Scotland. Thanks for the ideas and the culture which will texture a great celebration for my family and friends.

Well not really a comment more of a question. I have been researching my family background and just recently found out we are decendant from Scotland (Always wondered why Scotland always held a place in my heart) anyway, so I've been checking around to see if the Thomason's were from any clans and let me tell you, alot of clans claim them as a Sept, matter afact alot of the clans say nasty things about the other clans who claim Thomason's as their sept. So my question is, which clan is right. James Thomason

I have a history of the origins of the Campbell name by Bellus Beauchamp and a marriage to one of the ancestral knights. This history is coorinated with a genealogical pedigree chart going back to the 10th century. The pedigree chart going back past King Arthur of the Round Table can be copied from records in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Family History Center. This service is free of charge with the exception of payment for paper to copy records. The information can be downloaded on a 3.5 floppy and then transferred to any progrm that will accept GEDCOM files. I would be happy to email 12 pages of the history upon request and will respond to resonable requests for the pedigree data on 3.5 floppies. If this information can be of assistance in your search for a link up into Scotland and Ireland lets give it a try.
