My GGG Grandfather was James Archabald Campbell (30 June 1750) Born on the ship coming over from Scottland. His father was William Campbell born in Scottland. It was said by my Aunt Elsie that they were close relatives of the Duke of Argyle and to the Scottish chieftans of Clan Campbell.

I just recently found this page and am very impressed. While researching my family's surname to see which clan we belonged to I soon discovered it was Campbell. All the terminology is new to me and I believe the name McDermott is part of the Breadalbane Campbell. I plan to do further investigating and perhaps someday I will get to a gathering of the clans.

It has been a pleasure to find and explore the Clan home pages. I have visited Inveraray Castle in Argyllshire, Scotland. I am now retired and find time that I can devote to researching my family geneology. It is my hope that the Clan Campbell Society will prove to be a great help in this effort.

I am of Scottish descent on my Father's side. We are the Inverarity's of the area of Angus and Inverarity near Forfar. We're not sure which Clan our family belonged too. I originally found info. on our family under the surname, Rarity. My Doctor and friend is Andrew Campbell of Houston, Texas and I am always sharing with him all the abundant info. I find on the Campbell's as I search for info. on the Inverarity's of Scotland. If anyone can help me or has any info. on my family name and which Clan we belonged to, I can't even begin to express my appreciation for such information as I am very proud of my Scottish Heritage!!! Sincerely, Noemie Innerarity Moonan

Wanted to be sure to include my husband's lineage, what I know so far anyway. Randall is the son of Edward Lee Campbell & Christine Inell Smith. Edward was the son of Lothing Layfayette Campbell & Mary Fannie Frances Caver (TX). Lothing Layfayette (b.9/6/1878, Clay Co. AL) was the son of Markus Campbell & Sena Brewster. If you know the parentage of Lothing Layfayette Campbell born in Clay County, Alabama, please contact me.

I am excited to find this web site. Hope you will be able to help me locate parents of George Washington Campbell born January 10, 1851 between Waynesville & Jerico, NC (Haywood County). His parents are possibly Thomas and Katherine Ann Simmons Campbell, but need proof. GW married Elizabeth "Bettie" McMahon in 1868 and came to Texas in 1869. Any leads e-mail me.

The McKelvey Fate has drawn me to look at my Scottish blood line. Immediately after I started - my husband found a new job and after a year totally out of the blue - he needed to go to Scotland and I went too. Even though it was February and it rained all week - I explored the City of Sterling as best as I could on foot by myself. We hope to be going back this May and I have invited my 70 year old Mother to go along. I can hardly wait. I now belong to the Clan Campbell Society of NA and take the Highlander magazine. I am interested in anything Scottish. My mother's maiden name was McKelvey. My maiden name was Biggs (English). Trying to find out if McKelvey is Irish or Scottish. Any help out there? I grew up in Fostoria-Findlay area of Ohio.

You have a Janet Duncan McIntyre on The Family Tree page I was wondering if Janet was Canadian. I have a Janet McIntyre Gray who married a soldier by the name of Nicholls or Nichol in Quebec Canada not sure if she was born in Scotland or Canada about the late 1700's or early 1800's according to the family history her father a McIntyre was a Socttish soldier station in the Citadel of Quebec City. Having a hard time finding any information on Janet in Canada. Seeing how Socttish family's give thier daughter middle family names, she could have been Janet Duncan McIntyre daughter. Can you or any one help me on this one. Thank you history say

My grandparents, Daniel and Margaret Campbell, emigrated to Australia early this century/late last century from Helensburgh, Scotland. We have managed to track down some of my maternal grandmother's family, but don't have a lot of information on my grandfather's family. Born Daniel Stewart Campbell in Helensburgh in 1869. Hope we can track some family down some day. A very interesting site. Thanks.

I am a descendant of Donald David Campbell (1700-1797) of Campbeltownl, Argylshire, Scotland and seek to go further back into his parentage as well as make contact with his descendants living anywhere in the world. Donald David Campbell came to the USA in 1736 and settled in the Buena Vista area of South Jersey (NJ). I believe his father was Donald Campbell while I am a descendant of Donald David Campbell's son Archibald Campbell I who fought in the American Revolutionary War and was a founder of the Friendship United Methodist Church in Landisville, NJ, in 1808. I will respond to anyone and everyone who cares to write/email me. Thank you. Bob Swartz

I have been trying forever to connect with a Campbell family from County Down, Ireland. My ancestor, William Campbell, born, Ca. 1770's lived in County Down with wife, Elizabeth. They came to Pa. for a year, didn't like it, and returned to Ireland, but their daughter, Mary Ann Campbell, who married James Thomas in Ireland, moved to Pa. in 1815, and then on to Ohio. Anyone, remotely connected to any Campbells in N. Ireland, PLEASE contact me. This is a great page for Campbell family members. Thanks. Lenna

Would like to let you know I just got hooked into the net & that I have found the Campbell's web page. I'm just please to be finally connected to other members of our great clan. I would also like to learn more about my ancestors and possible trace my linage as far back as I can. I do know that one of my early ancestors, Edward Campbell, born in Kintyre, Scotland in 1757, came to Charleston, South Carolina in 1788. He brought his wife, a Mary Maclellan and six children with him. So I would like to trace my family line back from there. Thank you, Gloria Campbell Manna

I am probably the first in my lineage to return to the motherland since the first ones left there in 1735 for Virginia as convicts. I was stationed in the Air Force at RAF Station Lakenheath, Suffolk, England, from 1966-1970. While there I had the opportunity to treat a cute little girl one afternoon to a tour of the base, and her first American style cheeseburger, fries and Coke. You can imagine my amazement some 12 years later when I saw her "Papa" (whom I knew well), escorting her down the aisle at Westminster Abbey to marry the Prince of Wales. When she and the Prince began having their marital difficulties, I wrote to her to see if she remembered. She did, and we stayed in close contact right up until the day before she was killed on August 31st. I can understand the whys so many people were so saddened with her death--my bereavement is about l0 times of the normal person's.
