Great site! We have traced heritage back to Scotland but
have been unable to determine what sept we belong to. Will
keep working on it. Plan on visiting Scotland in May and
perhaps will be able to determine then.

First of all, I would like to commend personel who created this site. I just wanted to take a little time and speak about the greatest heritage in the world. I have always been interesed in tracing my roots back to Scotland. A little is known about my background, but I do know that both of my parents come from strong Scottish decent (Irish, English, etc.) Some of my surnames are Cambpell, Greene, MacNamara, Napier, and MacNeil. My great-grandmother, Mary Campbell, was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. From what I discovered, her parents emigrated from Scotland and came to Canada. If anyone else can relate with me, I would love to hear from them.

I enjoy this site and the services of CCS,NA. I would like to know if anyone has information about the Clan Campbell, USA, Book published 1940 and another published in 1947. My grand-father had the 1940 copy but it vanished. Good hunting to all that are looking for family traces. I come from the John Campbell of Nicholas County in 1792.

My paternal great grandmother was of the Clan Argyll. Her name, as it was given to me, was Agnes McQuerence, could be MacQuerence. She was born in Scotland. She married Henry Hogan, b: Ulster, N. Ireland, (b: about 1815). The Donnan family records were lost during the family move from PA to CA in 1946. Most of the family history for both the Donnans and Hogans was lost.
Any help with these two names would be very much appreciated.

I am the son of Eddie Campbell, brother of Father Hugh, and Maureen Chrystal, and eldest brother to Stephen, Anne and Jennifer. The family comes from Glasgow, although I'm now in Switzerland. My father was born in Buckie, Banffshire, where his father was headmaster at the local school. Prior to that we believe that our origins are, around the mid 19th century, from Ireland (Donegal) and long before that back to the plantation of Northern Ireland when many Scots formed part of the invading forces. As Campbells of recent Irish origin our family tree is difficult to trace due to the destruction of family records in the Dublin uprising of 1916. Best wishes to all Campbells !

I have been told all of my life that we are decended from the Campbell Clan. I also have a little book which indicates the same. The name McLemore is a bastardization of Mac Calian Mor or something to that effect. Supposedly he was a son of Calian Mor, Founder of the Clan buried at Argyll. Does someone know if any of this is remotely true? I have seen it in other history books as well, but I am still not certain. Thank you EMP

I hope this site can help me out. My grandfathers name was Ralph Roy Campbell born in Adair County Kentucky on Nov. 16 1908, He was The son of James Garnet Campbell and Lucy Ellen Stoots. He was one of 8 children born to them. After James died Lucy remarried to a man by the name of Henson and thats all I know if you have any info for me it would be a big help.

Hello. Im in my living time in Sydney Australia, My mother was Diana Cambell before marrying my father Crowley Crennan. I am studying at Sydney University and my home page has links to your sight. I have heard of the famous nostalgia that Scots feel, and one day, I hope to look on the land my ancestors came from. I am currently involved with Celtic Studies and the study of Irish Gaelic. It is great to find Cambell on the Internet, and I hope the fortunes of the Clan remain clean and strong.Angus

I've explored the contents of this website breifly and haven't really found what I was looking for. I'm 19 years of age and have very little knowledge of my family backgrounds. I do know that when I was younger, my parents took an interest in the Highland games that are held in Portland, Oregon which in turn has sparked my curiosity of the Campbell clan. The only thing I can recall about which part of the Campbell clan we desend from, is the words "Forget Not". I have no idea if it means anything or not but I would like to know of which area we were from. The last Campbell in our family that we were able to find records about, was a James Campbell who came to America in the early 1800's. I guess this really hasn't any meaning but I love research work and would like some help out on this project. I've found the website very helpfull but would like to know some other sources to try in order to continue retracing our family tree.

I have always been more than proud of my Campbell heritage, let alone my Scot heritage. My father always stressed that all us Scotsman were as much a clan as the Campbells were. After veiwing this site, I can see what he meant. I wish to praise those that have created this site and those that have found themselves here. One and all are welcome to contact me and maybe we could met if you are ever in the area. I especially enjoy the music and art that works to represent our culture.
