Not a Campbell (an Armstrong) but i am just looking at other clan websites. Since both of the clans were very powerful back in the 1400-1500's, I was wondering if the Armstrongs and the Campbells either had a relationship (friend or enemy) or if they knew about each other's strength.

My maternal grandfather was William Holland Franklin Campbell born 8/15/1897 in Arkansas and died 11/15/1967 in Ripley, Tennessee. His father was Arnie and his mother was Fannie Lou Page. His first wife Mary Wilkerson died and he married Josephine Fain. I am clan Campbell of Argyll, have been to the Inverary Castle a few times. I named my dog "Mac Argyll of Somes Bar" which irritated my mother as she is English/French heritaged (we don't hold it against her) - but I am my fathers' daughter and therefor a Scot and damn proud of it.

My grand father's name was Donald Alan or Alan Donald Campbell, names could have been switched when he came to America from Nova Scotia. He was married to Regina Cormier on February 17, 1920. My father is Donald Alan Patrick Campbell, he is one of 8 children, he was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. I have a few sources of family history, but all are telling different versions. I am doing family research on my family. We are descended from THOMAS CAMPBELL who was born March 17, 1812 in New York. I believe he was born in Sodus, New York. He was married to Mary Ann Babcock on Sept. 22, 1834 in Barre, New York (this is Orleans County). I believe Thomas Campbell's father may have been THOMAS C. CAMPBELL. He was married to ABIGAIL CAMPBELL (NABBY). Nabby's death was Sept. 30, 1824 in Hartford, NY. Thomas C. Campbell and Nabby had three sons: W. O., Thomas (who I think is my Great-great-grandfather), and John D. Campbell. My Great-great-grandfather, Thomas Campbell and his wife, Mary Ann Babcock had six children: Nellie Mae, Mettie Ann, John W., Calvin (my great-grandfather), Frank, and Windsor Otis. My great-grandfather, Calvin Campbell was born Jan. 18, 1844 in Orleans County, NY (could be the town of Sodus). Calvin married Marie Antoinette Eldridge (whose grandfather, weirdly enough, was Duncan Campbell Eldridge of Haddonfield, NJ).
