I'm starting to become interested in tracing my ancestors "roots." My wife's family has such a colorful history and I'd love to be able to throw in some family notes of my own at the holidays. Hopfully this site will help in the tracing process. I'm going to send my membership fee this afternoon! Great site!!

My mother is a McCallum, her great great grandfather came to North Carolina in 1796, my fathers ancestors came before, but I do not know much about them. His great great grandfather's name was William Billy Campbell, born in the United States.

Saw your clan display at the Omaha celtic festival and they gave me this site. I have been researching my family and our oral history says our family came here from Scotland in the early 1700's. I still need to gather evidence. Some sources say Barnes is a sept of the Campbell clan so I'm thinking of joining.

Family history states that great, etc, grandmother was Sarah (Sally)Campbell who married a Moses Maynard (or Manard). This was in late 1600's or possibly early 1700s. This is why I am interested in Clan Campbell. Glad to find your site. I'm trying to find events in my area.

Hellow! At the turn of this century, most of my particular Campbell family left Arichat, Isle Madame, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to seek their fortune in the "Boston States". (Actually property records show an intersesting period of bankruptcy dodging, although a killing was made in an ice house venture and the landing of iced fish on the American market) My own grandfather stayed and worked in the Sydney, Cape Breton Industrial Boom of the same time.He died in an Industrial accident at an early age, subsequently contact was lost with the extended family. So here is the needle in the hay stack.--I am looking for my Boston cousins. The man who went to the U.S.A., my Great-Grandfather, was a merchant in fish, his Wife was a Binet-Huguenot stock from the Guernsey Isles (again a fish merchant family). At a latter time I,ll dig out my tree and post the Christian names of this my Great-Grandfather and his children who made the trek with him. For now, if this story rings bells Please respond. oh yes the Scot who crossed the pond and sired this line was a Gael from Perthshire. He married a MacAskill women circa 1825. Take care.

Have tried all avenues in Phila.PA for information on my grandmother, Hannah Campbell Horn, daughter of John Joseph Campbell, who received naturalization papers in Phila.PA on Sept. 27, 1875, but have had no luck. Anyone with any info, I would appreciate help. My grandmother had four other siblings, Mary E. Carr, Timothy, Edward P., Joseph T. I got this info from a family bible.
